Migratory Behavior Affects the Size of Brains in Birds

Researchers in Barcelona recently studied the brain size in birds. It has been known that birds that migrate have smaller brains but this study shows that actually migrating leads to this smaller brain size. They believe this is done in order to reduce energy used to allow more energy to be used for their patterns of migration. This helps balance the processes of the birds.
