Suicidal Dogs in Scotland

The article I chose is about the Overtoun Bridge in Scotland and the unusual affect it seems to be having on local dogs- its making them kill themselves. Beginning in the 70's, over 50 dogs have jumped to their death off of the bridge. I find this article very interesting because specialists are having a difficult time coming up with an explanation for the suicides. Their are some crazy theories about ghosts, or a mysterious lady influencing the dogs to jump off but scientists are coming up with the most likely conclusion, that the dogs are catching the scent of mink blowing up from below the bridge. This is an interesting story for anyone who enjoys learning about abnormal animal behaviors.

  4. Wow that is extremely interesting! I find it so strange that this smell would come out of no where.. Maybe someone could have planted it, but either way this seems very unusual.

  5. I could possibly understand going for the smell of mink, but I'm still trying to figure out how that works in combination with the solid walls of the bridge, and how structure has anything to do with it. and the previous thoughts of paranormal activity were just lazy people not wanting to take 5 minutes to think of at least one logical explination.

  6. That just gave me the chills if there really is a ghost telling the dogs to jump off . I'm a believer in the abnormal so you never know. The smell of the mink is also interesting, but it's definitely more interesting if there's a ghost telling them to jump off. Wow
