Recent Earthquakes Not Unusual
On April 13th, there was a 6.9 earthquake in China. Along with China's earthquake there were others in Haiti, Chile and Mexico. According to scientists this earthquake activity is "well-within the normal range." Scientists say there has been 18 major earthquakes within the year from April 15, 2009 to April 14, 2010 which is also expected. Aftershocks will continue in the regions around each of this year's major earthquakes sites. But these aftershocks shouldn't be any larger than the earthquakes themselves. These recent earthquakes have not rasied the likelihood of any major earthquakes in the future. Though these earthquakes were all very devastating, it is comforting to know that all of this earthquake activity isn't abnormal.

ReplyDeleteI guess because they have been in populated areas and casualties were heavy. It gives the inclination that there have been more than normal. Good to know that California is not going anywhere.
ReplyDeleteIt's pretty interesting to find out that these eartquakes aren't out of the ordinary. Everyone in the world is freaking out about all of this "world in going to end nonsense" and I'm really happy to know that these things just happen and they were expected at the same time.
ReplyDeleteIt's all thanks to movies like 2012 and the day after tomorrow that people are freaking out, though it would be pretty funny to see california just moving away one day lol
