Resurrected Mammoth Blood
A team of scientists has brought the main component of mammoth blood back to life using ancient DNA that was preserved in the bones of specimens that are 43,000 years old. Studies show that mammoths were able to cool their extremities down in harsh Artic conditions so they could minimize heat loss. Professor Campell says it's extraordinary to be able to study an animal that hasn't lived for thousands of years.
