On april 20th, a group of scientist reported on an online chat that they were in the process of creating dressings that would kill bacteria in wounds and burns and allow the body to heal itself. Current dressings are coated with silver to kill bacteria but the problem with that is that the silver also hurts the human cells and prevents you from healing. their idea is to put in the dressing capsuls with medicine that when bacteria, such as a staph infection, attack it the capsuls rupture and killing the bacteria along with any around it. This is a nice way to go in preventing infections because it would allow us the patients to heal faster. it would also give me personally more peace of mind knowing the infection is dead and wont pop out again.
