New Species of Flying Reptile Discovered

A new species of flying reptile, a pterosaur, was discovered in Northern Texas. During an excavation of a hillside next to a highway the creatures fossilized jaw was exposed. At first Lance Hall thought it was an oyster shell. After he noticed the color was more of a tan-like bone color, he exposed all of it to see it was indeed a fossil. Later he was told that it was a new species now named Aetodactylus Halli. The jaw was interesting to Paleontologist because it had teeth. All Pterosaurs were toothless except for Coloborhynchus.

  1. This was a pretty interesting post. It is weird to think that after so many years of reseachers exploring land, they are still finding new animals.

  3. Intriguing. There is more and more evidence found every year that show the strong connection between birds and reptiles.
