Re-Calibrating Therapy for Our Wired World

Re-calibrating Therapy for Our Wired World

This article is about how technology is putting a negative effect psychologically. It is becoming more common for people to develop social phobia which is anxiety of speaking up in front of people. You can develop this from texting, more commonly in teenagers. They express their feelings to people in email or text messaging; this was not available in the 80’s you had to talk on a telephone or in person. It discusses how apps can lead you through your day telling you what to do next during the day. Technology can actually be a positive thing as well and put a therapist in your pocket at all times.  Apps can tell you when you are stressed too much, whether you have eaten enough that day, and other depressive symptoms. You can relate with people and there depression by reading things online and it can be a relief. Technology is such a debatable subject whether it is more helpful or not.
